Most think of “Noah’s Ark” when discussing Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. Yes, the Dells is well-known for their huge waterparks. If you’re planning to travel with kids Noah’s Ark is a fun, affordable waterpark for the whole family. Remember to pack a lunch to save a little $$ since patio tables are available below shaded trees nearby in the parking lot. Be sure to look on-line for coupons before visiting. Also, wearing shorts over your suit is definitely permitted (and recommended by yours truly). My husband and I usually go for a day trip during the week in the summer to avoid the crowds and long lines. Fun fact: June is a slower month than July or August and Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the best days to avoid long lines.
There’s a hidden gem nestled within the Wisconsin Dells. A place where adults (only) go to retreat from the stress of work/life. Sundara spa offers:
- organic food prepared by a professional chef
- massages/facials (for an additional fee)
- ritual bath
- several quiet rooms for relaxation/reading (so remember to bring a book!)
- several hot tubs (both indoor and outdoor and fresh/salt water)
- infinity pool
- salt water pool and swim-up bar
- deluxe rooms, complete with fireplaces and multi-jet Kohler showers
No smoking, no pets, no cellphones, no kids=paradise.
TIP: If you book another stay within 14 days of your current stay you’ll receive $50 off your next visit. Also, if you book your stay during your birth month you’ll receive $25 off! Visiting Sunday-Thursday nights during the winter months is the most affordable time to go but the summer months allow more use of their amazing outdoor spaces.
If you don’t want to splurge on the trip ask a girlfriend (or significant other) to go with you to split the cost. There are plenty of free activities offered throughout the day, therefore receiving a massage or facial to fill the day isn’t required. Especially if you’d like to experience one of the best spas in the U.S. without breaking the bank.
Some of the free activities include:
- Yoga
- Aqua yoga
- Boot camp
- Circuit training
- Cooking demo
- Intro to Ayurveda
- Skin Care
- Mixology
Of note: No cellphones or pictures are allowed but we broke this rule to take the picture above. It was my sister’s idea, she’s such a rebel!
