Seeing the United Nations building, taking a tour of the National Red Cross museum and strolling through the city by the water are some ideas to keep in mind while visiting the gorgeous city of Geneva.

City Hostel– in an expensive city like Geneva it’s exciting when you find an affordable place in a great part of town.  Close to the train and walking distance to downtown this hostel was perfect for our budgeted girls’ trip abroad.

We also took at day trip to Lausanne, which is a short train ride away, to take in some fantastic views.  If you have a day to walk around and you’re in a quiet, people-watching kind of mood this city is a perfect town.  It’s also a great place for photographers (and novice photographers like myself). In fact, my mom has a canvas print of a picture I took of some sailboats with the mountains and the lake in the background in this quaint little city.
