21 day Gratitude Challenge

After watching an inspiring Ted Talk titled “The happy secret to better work” which discussed how happiness inspires productivity, I was moved to try it out for myself (what do I have to lose)?!

Here’s how it works:
1. Write down 3 things you’re grateful for each day
2. Write down 1 positive memory within the past 24 hours each day
3. Thank someone each day for something they’ve done for you

I just recently completed the 21 day gratitude challenge and as I reflect on my attitude I am amazed by the results! Not only has it become more natural to feel grateful for the little things in life (hey, the waitress remembered not to put a lemon in my ice tea!), to recalling a positive memory each day (my youngest nephew actually laughed at my joke!), but it’s also become second nature to turn negatives into a positive such as: “My flight is delayed which means I’ll miss my connecting flight resulting in an 8 hour layover in the Miami airport again” (true story!) to instead changing the mindset to “Excellent, my flight is delayed which may result in additional airline miles for a future trip”!

This new way of thinking can adjust your perception to “WINNING!” every day instead of noticing the blunders which can happen during every day life.  I encourage you to take this eye-opening challenge as well to see if it can benefit you.
